Ride Classics

    Insurance terms

    Insurance Coverage:

Each rental on the Ride Classics platform is subject to the purchase of insurance in order to cover the renter and the vehicle for the duration of the rental service.

The insurance policy taken out, referred to as “fully comprehensive”, includes and covers the following deductibles and guarantees:

    • Third-Party Liability (road use)
    • Legal Defense, Recovery, and Insolvency
    • All-Accident Damage with a deductible, within the contractual limit of €100,000 incl. VAT
    • Theft and Vandalism with a deductible, within the contractual compensation limit of €100,000 incl. VAT
    • Fire, Storms, and Natural Forces with a deductible, within the contractual compensation limit of €100,000 incl. VAT
    • Glass Breakage with a deductible of €200
    • Natural Disasters with a deductible set by decree, within the contractual compensation limit of €100,000 incl. VAT
    • Driver’s Personal Injury Coverage
    • Terrorist Attacks and Acts of Terrorism with a deductible per event, within the contractual compensation limit of €100,000 incl. VAT

The coverage limits of the policy, for Third-Party Liability both during and outside of road use, are as follows:

    • Unlimited coverage for bodily injury caused to third parties.
    • €100,000,000 for material and consequential immaterial damage (for sub-limits, please refer to the specific terms and conditions of the policy).

The date of issue of the driving license of the designated driver(s) must be strictly more than 5 years prior.

    Roadside Assistance:

Ride Classics will provide free roadside assistance in the area of the French Riviera. As classic cars require constant attention and technical surveillance, these cars are not made for long distance unsupervised trips. Renters who want to make longer trips should contact us before the rent so we can best advise you on the type of car you need and make an appropriate briefing.

Contractual Deductible (based on vehicle value):

    • €1,000 for vehicles valued at less than €20,000 incl. VAT
    • €2,000 for vehicles valued at €20,000 incl. VAT up to €70,000 incl. VAT
    • €3,000 for vehicles valued at €70,000 incl. VAT or more

A security deposit equal to the deductible amount is taken before the start of the rental. The process is as follows:

    • Activation of the card pre-authorization: A payment link is sent to you within 2 days before the rental to the email address used for the booking. This is not a charge but a funds authorization placed on your bank card.
    • Use of the deposit: In the event of an issue (damage to the vehicle, fuel not refilled, etc.), all or part of the deposit may be charged to cover the costs.
    • Release of the authorization: The card pre-authorization is released no later than 7 days after the end of the rental, once we have verified that everything has been completed correctly. You will receive a confirmation email when the authorization is released.

Costs and Additional Charges at the End of the Rental:

At the end of each rental, additional costs may be charged to the Renter through a full or partial deduction from the security deposit, payable to Ride Classics.

The table of additional costs is provided below.

In the event of damage, you will be liable for the deductible amount, which may range from €1,000 to €3,000 depending on the vehicle category:

For example, if the deductible is €1,000:

    • If the damage amounts to €200, you will pay €200
    • If the damage amounts to €1,700, you will pay €1,000

If you cause several damages during the same rental, a deductible may apply for each individual damage.

Conditions for the Application of Insurance Coverage:

You immediately benefit, for any rental on the Ride Classics website, from the insurance service described above, provided that you meet the following eligibility conditions:

    • Hold a Category B driving license for at least 5 years,
    • Have at least the mandatory safety equipment (high-visibility vest),
    • Have had no claims with aggravating circumstances in the past 24 months (alcohol consumption, drug use, hit-and-run).

Certain situations may result in the loss of this coverage and make you financially liable for damages:

    1. Failure to comply with driving conditions

    • You do not meet the age or driving license seniority requirements stated at the time of booking (which may vary depending on the vehicle).
    • The actual driver is not the one declared in the contract (e.g. a friend drives the vehicle without being registered).
    • The driving license or identification provided is invalid, falsified, or not recognized in France.

    2. Prohibited use of the vehicle

    • Driving on a racetrack, rally (all types), stunt driving, timed events, or any other competition.
    • Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or gas (balloons, etc.).
    • Use not compliant with the rental agreement (e.g. paid transportation of passengers or goods).

    3. Other exclusions

    • Intentional damage to the vehicle.
    • Refusal to pay the deductible in the event of a claim.
    • Return of the vehicle after clearly abusive use (e.g. dangerous or negligent driving causing damage, excessive speeding, etc.).
    • Non-payment of a rental extension.
    • Abandonment of the vehicle before completing the end-of-rental inspection.
